WWW.ELECTRICMINDS.CO.UK Electric Minds is a musical movement that started in disused warehouse spaces as well as basements & empty snooker clubs in the east end of London.
The Electric Minds ethos is based on musical diversity, art and people. Electric Minds recognise that there is a general lack of musical knowledge amongst new DJ’s, producers and events. The impact of original soul, jazz and disco has had a vast impact on what is recognised as being modern electronic music. An Electric Minds party will feature quality music spanning the past 35 years and is inspired by legends past and present such as Harvey, Danielle Baldelli, Larry Levan, Mad Mike, Carl Craig and Lenny Williams.
Local artist Felix Kiessling has worked alongside Electric Minds since it’s conception. Using his Dead Hoxton Girls project (www.deadhoxtongirls.com), Kiessling has played a vital role in creating strong mood evoked imagery that marries the name and music. His work can be found at all Electric Minds parties through back drops and art installations. Through targeted non-mainstream marketing Electric Minds has built up a following of musically aware people who share the ‘eclectic’ philosophy of their events. It is the combination of all these attributes that differentiates Electric Minds from anything else out there.
Our education in music came through working at the prolific Reckless Records in London where we developed a love for all genres of deep music. Our DJ sets link the boundaries of soul and electronic music which have a heavy cosmic influence. Achieving rich layers of sound invlove amalgamating genres such as exotica, disco, soul, jazz, boogie, brazilian, house, techno and afro-beat into one.
